United Methodist Women

Gordon's Chapel United Methodist Church

The United Methodist Women is a community of women whose main purpose is to know God and to experience the freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ. To develop a creative, supportive fellowship, as well as expand the concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

The UMW meets every third Monday evening at 7:00 PM in the Fellowship Hall.  In addition to home and foreign missions, we support and participate in a variety of activities in the Church.  The primary fundraisers for this organization are the two Bake Sales held each year at the Annual Barbeque and at the Fall Festival.  The Bake Sales are almost as well known as the barbeque.  Most women in the Church help us with the bake sale.  We have many other activities such as sponsoring the Mother-Daughter Banquet and bridal and baby showers for Church members, and engage in various projects such as receptions, and the renovation of the Fellowship Hall. We enjoy food and Christian fellowship at each meeting.  All women of the Church are encouraged to join UMW.  Teresa Self is President of this group.
